Google Ads have been improved to be easier to read on mobile devices and on computers. The ads do not look fundamentally different from the old design but the improvements make them easier to read. Users will be able to quickly determine what the ad is about and should easily notice the most important elements of the ads.
The new font the ads use is Roboto, the same font Google uses on Android devices. The color palette is blue and grey. What's really interesting is what they've done with the call-to-action button. It has a different look and changes based on the type of ad unit used. Ads of different sizes will now have completely different call-to-action buttons.
The new ads appear to be far more touch friendly. These days, people are more likely to visit a site from a mobile device than a computer, so that's a very good thing. Hopefully, this will help advertisers to get far more traffic and publishers to get far more clicks.
However, I'm slightly concerned that the ads won't work as well when people view them for a desktop computer. They're so clearly designed with mobile in mind, and they might not blend in the way ads did in the past. This might not be a big deal -- more clicks come from mobile devices anyway -- but it's still concerning. Overall, though, I'm happy Google saw there was a problem and took steps to fix it. Google does things that upset me, but they never seem to stop working to make their products better. That's something I'll never complain about.
I plan on doing a lot of experimenting with this bold new design. Hopefully, I'll get some very good results. If this new design leads to me making more money through advertising, I'll be very happy. It definitely seems like Google has some good ideas, and I'm happy to try them out.
While this may seem unnecessary, it does provide some advantages to the website owner and the monetizing features of their store. The advertisers will be able to promote their ads without distorting the pages making the website more easily accessible and prompting return visits. Furthermore, the website will now be able to promote a range of AdSense ads including both image and text ads.
